Att böjas till form, 2025
To bend into formGalleriet Konsthögskolan
In my exhibition ‘To bend into form’ I tell stories about snow, vampires, the Lewinsky scandal, Västerbotten, trolls, and an artist named Pippa. Among other things.
Exhibition opening. The first 20 visitors recieved a handmade candle holder, specifically made for the event.
A lock is never static! It is a sign of boundaries, yet also a promise of access. The key’s teeth bear traces of a script, a story of interaction and function, while the lock both resists and yields. One cannot exist without the other.
The Keys
When I was nine years old, I received my first diary. It was pink, with a little lock and a matching key. Those of you who have ever used such a diary lock know how useless that key really is, it is far from unique and the lock can easily be opened with any clip or pin. I didn’t know that. So, fearing that someone might use the key to open and read my secrets, I put the tiny piece of metal in my mouth, thinking I would keep it safe there for the time being! A minute later, the key slipped down my throat, and I tried (in vain) to cough up the tiny, tiny silvery thing. I never dared to tell my mom that I had swallowed my key. For at least a year afterward, I lived with the belief that it remained in my stomach, forever separated from its partner!!!!!
The Hooks
A hook is a transition, a connection. It invites action, and without action, it loses its meaning. The shape signals use without needing further explanation. It holds on, yet also allows for movement. The hook possesses a latent potential that requires human (or mechanical) interaction, an external act to realize its full capacity. Something remains suspended, yet ready to change. It carries a desire to bend into form.”
